Description
Blanket your garden in fragrance with Corsican Mint, a low-growing herb that creates a lush, aromatic carpet. Ideal for ground cover, or between paving slabs for walking over, its very unusual refreshing mint flavour and aromatic leaves add both visual and olfactory delight to your outdoor space. Corsican Mint is a hardy herb that is often said to thrive in well-drained soils, but I have found it to enjoy moist soils just as much. It is of course morphologically curious, having small leaves unlike other mints (but typical for hotter climates), and unusual roots. Its roots run very deep, again unlike other mints who have a more lateral or stolon producing habit. Lets not forget it is also the one and only mint that is used to make Crème de menthe, the sweet, mint-flavoured alcoholic beverage originating from France in circa 1885. In short, a beautiful, interesting, and highly fragant mint.
