Description
Explore the delightful essence of Corn Mint, also known as field mint or wild mint (and often confused with Mentha canadensis, and Japanes mint, althought they are all very different). This aromatic, compact, small-leaved and bushy herb offers a subtle and refreshing flavour, making it a versatile addition to various culinary creations. The leaves of Corn Mint can be enjoyed in teas, salads, and desserts, providing a connection to the natural beauty of the outdoors. Although thought sometimes to be less hardy than other species, it has always grown well at Mintopia. It is a naturally occurring perennial of cornfields, and grows across most of the Northern hemisphere. Of note, is this plants pedigree in literature, being referred to for the first time in Grandfather Leis Discussion of Herb Preparation in 470 AD, Corn Mint has also been found in a Chinese prescription dating back to the 15th century in which the suggested use was to treat bloody dysentery. A good addition to a wild garden.
