Description

It has a spearmint-like fragrance and is good used in fruit salads with melons. It likes a cool, shady place to grow. Gingermint is a naturally occurring hybrid indigenous throughout the overlapping native regions of cornmint and spearmint in Europe and Asia. It was first introduced to North America from Scotland by a gardener in Wisconsin in 1969; due to the Scottish origin of the variety and its similarity in flavour to spearmint, it is known there as Scotch spearmint. Since the smell of ginger mint is thought to ward off rats and mice, it is placed in granaries to keep pests away from the grain. In North America, Scotch spearmint essential oil is used in flavouring chewing gum and candies. In Britain, it is used as the traditional flavouring of Scotchmint candies. In Vietnamese cuisine the fresh herb is used a flavouring in chicken or beef pho. As a medicinal herb it is used to treat fevers, headaches, and digestive ailments. Why not spice up your garden with the exotic essence of Ginger Mint. This aromatic herb combines the classic freshness of mint with a hint of spicy ginger, creating a unique and flavourful profile. Ideal for teas, desserts, and culinary creations, Ginger Mint adds a zesty twist to your garden, making it a standout choice for both utility and visual appeal.
