Description
Sachalinensis mint is a popular choice, especially if you want to use it for cooking, as it is fast growing (but dont allow it to dry out during the Summer). Recognised to be an excellent attractant and nectar source for bees and other beneficial insects. This mint is often sold under other names, such as Garden mint or even erroneously thought to be Mentha Haplocalyx, or Mentha Canadensis. Its name is eponymous from where it comes from, the elongated Sachalin or Sakhlin island in Northeast Asia, off the southeastern coast of Russia, and north of Japans Hokkaido.
